Downtown Singapore

The main shopping area of downtown Singapore is known as Orchard Road. Renata's favourite department store is CK Tang, on the left.
The christmas decorations here seem more religious than in the U.S.
The grand old Raffles hotel was built around the turn of the century. Expect to pay around $3000 per night for a suite. What other hotel can claim that a tiger was shot in the billiard room.
One nice way to soak up the atmosphere is to take the bumboat cruise on the river at night.
The Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus (CHIJ) has been converted into fancy botiques and restaurants. The new name? Chijmes, like wind Chimes.
Last but not least, we see so many of the international chains here, i.e. Borders, Bank of America, etc.
